On this Valentine's Day

When I was a little girl,
I watched couples kissing and hugging all the time on TV
Even after they’re married with kids
I always wonder how it could be possible
My parents never showed any intimacy when we are around
I never saw people hugging in the street
I thought it is one of the things only happened on TV
But deep in my mind,
I wanted to have a relationship like that
Someone who would not be afraid to show his affections for me

Until I met my husband – Cord
I know it’s real
Couples do kiss and hug all the time
Husband would do chores with wife
I could really be loved

On this Valentine’s Day
I got some flowers from my husband
I got a card saying how much he loves me
An album for us to start piling our mementos

My husband is not rich, but he is generous to me
He bought me things I love
He let me have two doggies when he was not so fond of them
He walks my doggies with me every day
He watches silly Hollywood movies with me
And He loves me for who I am
